[UPDATE] 06th September 2019: After much searching and begging throughout the Alps, Pyrenees and Scandinavia, we've finally found the vehicle that is going to beautifully piste those bumpy snowdrifts on Lowther Hill for you.

Ladies and gentlemen, we introduce you to soon-to-be South of Scotland's only snowgroomer: a mighty Kässbohrer PB070 (similar to the one in the picture below). We need to act quickly but we're still a bit short of funds. So, here's a bit more begging: any spare pennies that you may be able to donate to the cause will be as always much appreciated. Please donate here.

[UPDATE] 31st May 2019: We are now half way our target! Your Lowther Hills volunteers are working extremely hard to ensure we buy South of Scotland's first snowgroomer before the winter season 2019/2020. We have just finished building the garage and access for the groomer. Everything is ready for it. Let's give it the final push!

We need your help to raise £9,900 to purchase a snow groomer which could double the number of skiable days at Lowther Hill.

HELP US TO PISTE THE SNOW AND DOUBLE THE SKIABLE DAYS AT LOWTHER HILL

A pistebasher will help us to compact and move drifts of snow around at Lowther Hill. This creates a longer lasting and much better surface for skiing and snowboarding. A well pisted snow surface is of particular help to beginners and children, helping them to enjoy snowsports and progress their skills.

THE ONLY SNOW GROOMER IN THE SOUTH OF SCOTLAND!

Lowther Hills is South of Scotland's only ski centre. We are also Scotland's only community-owned and volunteer-run ski centre. We don't have access to the large sums of public money that is given regularly to the larger ski centres in the Highlands. Instead, we recycle everything and stretch the pennies as much as we can, we regularly organise funding events like the Lowther Hills Cycle Sportive and the Lowther Hills Ski Sale, and every now and then we have to resort to scrounging and asking for help :-)

We have been saving money for a few years to buy a snowgroomer. We've built a garage for it and now we are ready to buy it. We have already located pistebashers which will suit our purposes perfectly. Now we need to raise the final sum of money to afford them.

Can you help us to bring to Lowther Hill the only snow groomer in the South of Scotland by the coming winter season 2019/20?
