The BBC reported the opening of the slopes in January:





Lowther Hills was one of Scotland's 7 "adventurous social enterprises" highlighted by the Scottish Council of Voluntary Organisations' Third Force News.





Newall Hunter, Leadhills lad who learnt to ski on Lowther Hill, became the first Scot and the 14th person in the world to climb the highest peaks on each of the seven continents and reach both the North and South Poles.





And Alastair Walker was selected for the GB Snowboard team, which could lead to selection for the 2018 Winter Olympics. Lowther Hills first olympian?
